CaSfA - Cancer Support for All
News from CaSfA's Director

Livestrong at the YMCA

I've recently started the Livestrong program at the YMCA.  It has been great!
As stated by the YMCA, this program has been developed to:
Improve energy levels
Build muscle mass and strength
Increase flexibility and endurance
Improve functional ability to do everyday tasks
Reduce the severity of therapy side effects and prevent unwanted weight changes
Develop an ongoing physical fitness program so participants can continue to
practice a healthy life style, not only as part of recovery, but as a way of life

The program is 100% free and includes:
  • A 12 week YMCA membership for the cancer survivor AND all family members
living in the household.
  • Two 75-minute classes per week for the survivor as part of a small group of 6 survivors
  • Full access to the YMCA, all their classes and equipment, for the survivor and their family for the 12-week membership
